It’s not shocking but it’s still worth mentioning that Rock Band 2 has just been confirmed by EA. It seems like a few companies are announcing their games pre-E3 to avoid being “lost in the noise”. It’s a smart strategy on their part, especially when the game is a no-brainer. The good news is that your existing Rock Band instruments and DLC songs will be playable with Rock Band 2. You’ll find no Guitar Hero-style shakedown here. It’s too bad because I was kinda looking forward to meeting the guy with big enough balls to get up on a stage and tell people their $170 Rock Band bundle wasn’t compatible with Rock Band 2.
I love Rock Band as much as the next guy , but I wonder why they can’t just keep releasing songs via weekly DLC like they are now. Hopefully the Rock Band 2 track list will be worth it. The game will be on display at E3 this year.
