Capcom have given gamers one more reason to purchase their open-world action title Dragon’s Dogma when the game releases this May 22 in North America and May 25 in Europe.
New copies of Dragon’s Dogma will include a redeemable code granting owners early access to the playable demo of Resident Evil 6 at least four months ahead of it’s Nov 20 release date. I say “at least” because Xbox 360 owners will get first dibs on the demo getting it on July 3. PS3 owner’s on the other hand have to wait another two months until Sept 4 to start killing international zombies. I’m sure PS3 owners are absolutely thrilled about this.
As has become the growing norm, publishers are piggybacking incentives to new IPs to boost interest and sales. Electronic Arts recently did it with their Mass Effect 3 / Reckoning cross-promotion.
Capcom also sent word of the Dragon’s Dogma retail-specific pre-order bonuses. GameStop customers with receive the ‘Pawn Upgrade Pack’ granting players “additional Rift crystals allowing them to rent higher level experience Pawns from the outset.” Best Buy customers will get an ‘Armor Upgrade Pack’ and buying at Amazon nets you the ‘Weapon Upgrade Pack’.
