Alan Wake's American Nightmare Dev Diary details 'Fight Till Dawn' Mode

I realize HugeGamer is one step away from becoming an Alan Wake fansite due to all the coverage we give the guy, but I just had to post this developer diary of the upcoming Alan Wake's American Nightmare.

Here Remedy's Oskari Hakkinen, Sam Lake, and Matias Myllyrinne discuss the genesis of the new arcade-style Survival mode 'Fight Till Dawn' included as part of the game.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare haunts XBLA on Feb 22.

Remedy bringing Alan Wake to the PC, arrives on Steam Feb 16

Alan Wake PC Screenshot

Anyone who has been to this site knows how we feel about Alan Wake. Not only was it HugeGamer's 2010 Game of the Year, but it garnered praise all across the gaming community for it's cerebral story and enigmatic characters. Heck, even TIME Magazine gave it the thumbs up. Now if only non-360 owners could somehow experience it's greatness. Hmmm.....

Review: Alan Wake "The Signal" DLC

The Signal is the first DLC "Special Episode" for Remedy's Alan Wake on the Xbox 360. It picks up where the story left off in the main game so obviously it's meant to be played after finishing it.

If you haven't played Alan Wake (what's wrong with you?) then you can read my review and find out what all the fuss is about.

I've decided the best thing to do is review The Signal in two ways. The first is a spoiler-free answer for people wondering if it's worth their time. The second is a detailed discussion of the plot in The Signal meant to be read after you've finished it. I just had to share it with somebody :)

What follows first is my spoiler-free review.

Alan Wake The Signal DLC Trailer

Hopefully this won't get lost in all the noise from E3 today, but I'm posting it here just to make sure it doesn't.

Here is a brief glimpse of The Signal, the first DLC episode for Alan Wake arriving on July 27 on Xbox Live.

Now I'm not sure when this is occuring, during or after the events of the game, but we see Alan and his agent Barry wondering through the woods and doing what they do best: killing freaks and making jokes. Let's hope they reach that sawmill.

All we know for sure is that it will be free to anyone who purchased a new copy of Alan Wake thanks to the code inside every copy of the game.

See you on the 27th.
