Starting tomorrow March 6, U.S. PS Vita owners will be able to download MotorStorm RC for free in the PlayStation Store courtesy of a sponsorship deal with Toyota’s Scion brand.
The PS3 version of MotorStorm RC also releases tomorrow at the unfree price of $9.99. However, downloading the free Vita version also unlocks the PS3 version at no charge. So if you own both the Vita and the PS3, that’s two free games thanks to Scion. Not a bad deal.
Sony has announced that the multiplayer portion of Killzone 3 will be offered next week on PSN as a standalone free-to-play title. This trial version includes all standard and DLC Killzone 3 maps and offers play up to the rank of Sergeant I, with players having the option to unlock the full game and trophy support for $14.99 once they reach the cap.
This is a bold experiment for Sony and it’ll be interesting to see how much interest this can generate for a year old shooter in today’s fast paced gaming world. There are currently no plans to release the single player campaign separately as a stand alone release however.
